The team at Mansion House hope you and your families are staying safe and well during these unprecedented times. As you will be aware, the practice has been closed for face to face contact under guidance from the Chief Dental Officer, Public Health England, CQC, General Dental Council and our indemnity providers. We hope you will appreciate the requirement for us to adhere to these guidelines during the current pandemic. During these weeks, our dentist’s have been available directly on the phone to speak to anyone who have had any problems or queries. We have also had the facility to use the Urgent Care Centre that has been set up in Ormskirk for the emergencies that have required intervention. We hope that we have been able to do our best to help where we can, given our limitations. You may be aware that the Chief Dental Officer announced on Thursday that dental practices could re-open from June 8th. This will be subject to us following guidelines which will be issued, undertaking risk assessments and having the correct Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) available. This will allow us to re-open in a manner that is safe, both for yourselves and the staff. Things at the practice will be a little different when we return and we do hope you will bear with us as we acclimatize to our new way of working. We anticipate that we will need a phased return to adhere to the above requirements. Initially, we may only open for telephone advice, appointment bookings and urgent emergencies that do not require Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGP’s) ie use of our drills etc. We hope then to proceed to routine care that again does not require an AGP (ie examinations and hand scaling). Finally, we hope to be able to provide all our routine care, albeit with a lower capacity. Our timescale for this will be governed by the advice given and having the correct PPE.
Please be rest assured that the team at Mansion House will be doing everything we can to continue to provide the care that you need in these unprecedented times and we always have yourselves as patients at the centre of everything we do.
