At Mansion House, we routinely place tooth coloured composite fillings as our material of choice. These involve less removal of tooth (and so less drilling!) as they bond to the tooth itself. They can be layered to provide a natural appearance which blends with the remaining tooth. The latest composite materials are strong and will wear at a similar rate to your own tooth, providing a long lasting cosmetic result.
There are still some situations, however, where tooth coloured composites are not the best material, and we would discuss your options in these instances. Here, traditional amalgam fillings are still a very good, long lasting solution, and we remain happy to place these in the correct situations.
